Meet Our Staff

Campus Minister

Chris Garriott is in his fourth year as RUF Campus Minister at the University of Maryland.  Chris grew up in Granite, Maryland (Baltimore County) and graduated from Randallstown High School in the age of big hair, docksiders and Izod shirts. After community college he finished his Civil Engineering degree from Geneva College just north of Pittsburgh.  He next worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration in traffic engineering and for several years began sensing God's call to go to seminary and study the Bible and theology.  This call took him to Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis.  Upon finishing his degree there, Chris taught Bible and coached baseball at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis.  After recieving a call into  church youth ministry Chris left St. Louis for the wind and plains of Oklahoma where he was the youth pastor at Heritage Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City (1998-2006).  Chris loves to play the guitar, read theology, watch and play sports, ski, hang out with students, discuss the big questions of life, take major road trips, camp and eat crabs.

Childhood dream? Pitching for the Baltimore Orioles

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact Chris by email at cgarriott@ruf.org or by phone at (301)448-9047
